SIMI VALLEY, Calif. – On Monday, May 8th, a county Human Services Agency office that serves In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) clients and their care providers will be relocated to 2900 N. Madera Road, Suite 110, in Simi Valley.
IHSS helps low-income seniors and people with disabilities – including children – stay in their own homes instead of moving to residential care facilities. IHSS provides help to pay for support services, including non-medical personal care, and assistance to and from medical appointments.
The IHSS Public Authority screens and refers IHSS providers who want to be matched with an IHSS client in need of care, and registers and trains all care providers. The IHSS program serves about 5,850 clients countywide, approximately one-third of whom live in Simi Valley and surrounding areas.
Care providers and clients who previously visited the Human Services Agency’s IHSS and IHSS Public Authority office at 3855-F Alamo Street in Simi Valley (Courthouse) regarding giving or receiving in-home care will be served at the North Madera Road location beginning May 8th.
Simi Valley Transit Route B has been extended to 2900 N. Madera Road to help ensure ease of access for the public. As an alternative to visiting the office, those interested in applying to give or receive in-home services may start the application process online or by phone.
