CAMARILLO, Calif. – The Ventura County Fire Department is accepting applications for Firefighter Trainee and Firefighter Trainee/ Paramedic Certified now through Friday, April 1, 2016.

All applications will be reviewed and each will be placed in one of three groups: a) accepted as a paramedic-certified candidate; b) accepted as a firefighter candidate; c) rejected as a candidate. All firefighter candidates who earn a passing score in the total assessment examination will be entered into a random selection process by which 550 of those candidates will be selected to continue in the examination/ selection process.
A separate random selection will be conducted for those candidates who are paramedic-certified, and of those, up to 110 will be selected to continue in the examination/ selection process. Candidates who successfully complete all phases of the examination process will be placed on an eligibility list for a minimum of one year.
