VENTURA, Calif. – On September 26th, a Ventura County Human Services Agency office, designated as an America’s Job Center of California, will begin to serve job seekers and employers at its new location, 2901 N. Ventura Road in Oxnard near The Collection at RiverPark.
The Oxnard office is one of more than 200 America’s Job Centers throughout the state that operate under state and federal law to provide local, state, public and private employment services aimed at meeting the needs of workers and employers under one roof.
Job seekers who previously visited the Human Services Agency’s job center at 1400 Vanguard Drive in Oxnard to get help with resumes, conduct online job searches, participate in career workshops, and learn about training opportunities may continue to receive these services at the N. Ventura Road location.
Customers who formerly sought State Employment Development Department (EDD) services at 1400 Vanguard Drive may continue to receive EDD workforce services at the new location as well.
Some 3,000 customer visits per month are expected at the new Oxnard job center, which is served by Gold Coast Transit’s Route 17 bus.
Human Services Agency Director Barry L. Zimmerman said, “The relocation of career and workforce services to 2901 N. Ventura Road will enable the Human Services Agency to bring together staff, partners, job seekers and employers in a highly professional environment that promotes team work, productivity and quality service to customers.”
On September 26, job center services will no longer be available at 1400 Vanguard Drive, although the public may still visit that Human Services Agency office to get help with Medi-Cal, CalFresh and CalWORKs benefits.
An affiliate America’s Job Center of California is located at 2900 N. Madera Road in Simi Valley. Additionally, the Human Services Agency operates resource rooms for job seekers at 4651 Telephone Road in Ventura; 725 E. Main Street in Santa Paula; 828 Ventura Street in Fillmore; 80 E. Hillcrest in Thousand Oaks; and 612B Spring Road (Ruben Castro Center) in Moorpark.
