CAMARILLO, Calif. – The Ventura County Fire Department is making it easier for contractors and the public to conduct fire prevention related business thanks to expanded front counter hours. As of this month, the Fire Prevention Counter in Camarillo will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays. The office is located at 165 Durley Avenue in Fire Headquarters at the Camarillo Airport.
"Fire Prevention has expanded its hours to the front counter so we can better serve our customers," said Ventura County Fire Marshal Massoud Araghi. "Understanding that time is valuable, we want to increase our availability to the public and expedite time spent in the permit approval process."
The Fire Prevention Bureau is responsible for developing and implementing programs and policies that prevent or reduce the magnitude of emergency occurrences, such as loss of life and property, personal injury or environmental damage. The Bureau accomplishes these goals through public education, conducting plan reviews, inspections of development projects and on-going fire safety inspections of businesses and properties within its jurisdiction.
